Sunway University is a private university located in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It boasts a 22-acre sized campus. Originally opened in 1987 as Sunway College, it achieved its’ “University College” upgrade in 2004 by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and then going on to “University” status in January 2011.
Sunway University is a member of the Sunway Education Group. This comprises of Sunway College and Monash University Sunway. This is owned by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation. All the educational institutions that operate under the Foundation are non-profit. Surpluses are managed and then channelled towards scholarships and awards offered to students. This includes grants for research.
It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which include Business, Science & Technology, Arts and Tourism, Hospitality & Culinary Management.
