Description

The Master of Science in Acupuncture at International Medical University (IMU) is a postgraduate degree that equips students with advanced knowledge and clinical skills in acupuncture, a recognised form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practised for over 2,500 years and acknowledged by the World Health Organization as part of complementary and alternative medicine. The programme is designed for health professionals and combines both online and face‑to‑face learning, making it suitable for working practitioners. It emphasises theoretical understanding, needling and moxibustion techniques, diagnostics, and integrative clinical practice, aligning with international standards for safe and effective acupuncture practice. Delivered by experienced lecturers from Malaysia and partner institutions, the curriculum also includes research methodology and holistic treatment strategies. Students benefit from partnerships with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and can choose options for additional clinical exposure or a double degree at the partner university. Graduates are prepared for advanced roles in acupuncture practice, research, and integrative healthcare settings locally and internationally.
