The Master in Artificial Intelligence (Open & Distance Learning – ODL) at HELP University is a flexible, career-focused postgraduate programme designed to equip professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills in artificial intelligence, data analytics and intelligent computing to meet the growing demand for AI expertise in today’s technology-driven industries. The curriculum blends theoretical foundations with real-world applications, covering areas such as applied machine learning, deep learning for computer vision, natural language processing, data management and network security, while cultivating critical thinking, leadership and ethical awareness. Delivered through modular ODL with monthly intakes and supported by HELP’s ELM (Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Management) Graduate School philosophy, the programme allows students to balance study with professional commitments and prepares graduates to transform complex data into actionable insights, drive innovation and lead AI initiatives across diverse sectors. Students can complete the eight-module programme in a minimum of 1 year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time), with maximum candidatures of 3 and 5 years respectively.

Entry Requirement

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, as accepted by the HEP Senate
  • or a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, where CGPA below 2.50 may be accepted subject to a rigorous assessment as determined by the HEP
  • or a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in a non-Computing field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, which may be accepted subject to a rigorous assessment to identify appropriate prerequisite courses equivalent to their working experience in Computing or related fields
  • or a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in a non-Computing field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, which may be accepted subject to completion of appropriate prerequisite courses.
