The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computing programme at BAC, offered in both full-time and part-time modes, is a doctoral research degree designed to develop advanced knowledge and research expertise in computing, information technology, and related disciplines. The programme equips students with skills in software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and computational research methods. Students conduct independent, original research under supervision, producing a dissertation that contributes new knowledge to the computing field. BAC emphasises academic rigor, innovation, and technical excellence, preparing graduates for academic careers, research positions, or leadership roles in technology and IT industries.

Entry Requirement

Successful completion of a Master’s Degree in Computing or related fields, as accepted by the HEP Senate
or successful completion of a Master’s Degree in non-Computing fields with a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in Computing or related fields, subject to appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP
or successful completion of a Master’s Degree in non-Computing fields with less than five (5) years of working experience in Computing or related fields, subject to appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP and rigorous internal assessment
or successful completion of other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia, subject to appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP
or successful completion of any equivalent degree, subject to University Senate approval.
