The Chinese Studies programme is one of the earliest programmes established at the Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). Since its founding, it has not only inherited the fine traditions of Xiamen University but has also benefited from the excellent faculty members in the Departments of History, and Philosophy at the main campus. During their studies, students can gain both broad and in-depth knowledge of Chinese language, literature, history, philosophy, and culture, and apply what they have learned flexibly in research and practical work. The XMUM’s unique bilingual environment, with both English and Chinese, also helps students develop cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to adapt to a multicultural and diverse society.; The Chinese Studies actively organises various academic and career-oriented lectures and has launched its own departmental journal, Yingming, as well as a literary publication, Rushi. These activities broaden students’ academic horizons and help prepare them for their future careers.; Graduates of the Chinese Studies enjoy strong employment prospects in fields such as education, media, culture, and business. Academically, they can choose to pursue graduate studies at Xiamen University or other prestigious universities in China and around the world. Alternatively, they may continue their master’s or doctoral studies at the XMUM.
