Description

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) at International Medical University (IMU) is a four‑year full‑time undergraduate programme designed to develop competent, compassionate, and practice‑ready pharmacists who can make a positive impact in healthcare and community settings. The curriculum integrates pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, public health, and professional practice, providing students with a solid foundation in medication management, patient care, and safe medicine use. Through a combination of classroom learning, laboratory work, and experiential placements in community, hospital, and industrial pharmacy environments, students gain practical skills and real‑world experience that prepare them for professional registration and practice. IMU also offers opportunities for international elective placements and research exposure, broadening students’ global perspective. The programme emphasises critical thinking, leadership, and innovation to equip graduates for diverse career pathways in hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, regulatory affairs, research and development, and the pharmaceutical industry.

Entry Requirement

  • Minimum grades of BBB, ABC, or AAC in Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics (with a minimum of B in Chemistry). Malaysian candidates must attain a minimum of C in Bahasa Melayu and English at SPM level or its equivalent (except for Degree level programmes).

  • Minimum grades of BBB, ABC, or AAC in Biology and Chemistry (with a minimum of B in Chemistry) and Physics or Mathematics. Malaysian candidates must attain a minimum grade C in Bahasa Melayu and English at SPM level or its equivalent (except for Degree programmes).

  • Minimum 5 credits (5B4s) including Biology and Chemistry and Physics and Advanced Mathematics
  • Any other subject Malaysians must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or UEC equivalent level (except Degree level)

  • Successful completion of IMU Foundation in Science, with minimum grades of BBB or ABC in three subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics, including a minimum of B in Chemistry, and attainment of five Bs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics / Additional Mathematics, and one other subject at SPM or O-Level. Malaysian candidates must attain a minimum grade C in Bahasa Melayu and English at SPM or equivalent level. The programme must be at least one year in duration and completed in the same institution. Foundation in Science or equivalent from other institutions will be subject to the Dean’s approval on a case-by-case basis.

  • Successful completion of a Diploma in Pharmacy, Health Sciences, or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.50, provided the programme duration is not less than five (5) semesters or 2.5 years and completed in the same institution, and attainment of at least two (2) Bs in Chemistry and Biology or Physics or Mathematics, as well as credits in three (3) other subjects including English at SPM / O-Level or its equivalent. Malaysian candidates must attain a minimum grade C in Bahasa Melayu and English at SPM or equivalent level (except Degree level).

  • Minimum ATAR 75 including Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics (minimum 75% in Chemistry) Malaysians must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or equivalent level (except Degree level)

  • Minimum 30 points overall with a minimum score of 5 each in 3 of the following subjects: i.e Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics with a 2 at Higher Level (HL) and 1 at Standard Level (SL) AND Malaysians must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or equivalent level (except Degree level)
