Description

The Master of Research (MRes) in Media, Languages and Cultures is a research-intensive postgraduate programme designed to provide students with advanced skills in independent investigation, critical analysis, and interdisciplinary research within the fields of media, language, and culture. The programme centres on a substantial independent research project supported by specialist training in research methodology, media analysis, sociolinguistics, cultural studies, translation, digital communication, and intercultural research techniques. Under the supervision of experienced academic staff, students develop their ability to design, conduct, and evaluate original research, contributing meaningful insights to contemporary media and cultural issues. Graduates acquire strong analytical, interpretative, and communication skills, preparing them for careers in academia, research institutions, media and communication industries, cultural organisations, policy development, or as a pathway to PhD studies in related disciplines.
