Description

The Geospatial Intelligence course is designed to equip students with practical tools and foundational knowledge to manage spatial data and remotely sensed imagery for extracting meaningful insights. It covers key areas such as geographic information systems, remote sensing, map design, habitat and landform mapping, data management, programming, drone mapping, photogrammetry, and data visualisation. Using real-world case studies, students explore location-based challenges across disciplines including biodiversity, agriculture, urban planning, mining, defence, and emergency services. Requiring little to no prior experience, the course is suitable for up-skillers, career changers, and professionals working with geospatial data, providing a pathway to graduate diploma and master-level studies.

Entry Requirement

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in any discipline
  • or successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree without a mathematics/statistics background, subject to the requirement to undertake preparatory units
  • or successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent without meeting the recommended background, subject to a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in GIS or remote sensing.
