Description

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Media, Languages and Cultures is a research-focused postgraduate programme designed for students who wish to deepen their understanding of communication, culture, and language while producing original research in these interdisciplinary fields. Candidates undertake an independent research project under the guidance of experienced academic supervisors, exploring areas such as media studies, sociolinguistics, cultural studies, translation, intercultural communication, digital media, or globalisation and cultural exchange. The programme emphasises advanced research methodology, critical thinking, data analysis, and scholarly communication, supported by access to extensive academic resources, media labs, and language facilities. Graduates develop strong analytical, interpretative, and communication skills, preparing them for careers in academia, research, media industries, cultural institutions, language services, policy development, or as a pathway to PhD studies in related disciplines.
