Description

The Bachelor of Applied Geology at Curtin Malaysia equips students with a strong foundation in theoretical and practical geology, alongside essential technical and commercial skills. Early studies cover chemistry, mathematics, scientific communication, and computer skills, with an introduction to geology. As students progress, they develop laboratory, field, and analytical expertise in mineralogy, petrology, sedimentology, structural geology, field mapping, and geophysics, focusing on understanding earth processes and evaluating natural resources. Final-year studies deepen applied geology knowledge in areas such as basin analysis, hydrogeology, environmental geoscience, and tectonics, culminating in a Geoscience Project that hones research, problem-solving, and independent project management skills.
