The Bachelor of Environmental Health and Safety (Hons) ODL is a 4-year undergraduate degree programme that prepares students for a career in environmental health and safety. This programme offered by MAHSA University employ’s an innovative teaching and learning approach through online and distance learning (ODL) delivery modes.; Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is the study of science and practices of public health that is concerned with all aspects of the natural and built environment affecting human health and its related issues that impacts communities, alongside promoting sustainable living conditions. Students will study disease prevention and control, food safety and hygiene, drinking water quality and supply, solid waste management and cleansing, pest and vector management, environmental health legislation, international health and management, wastewater treatment and management, occupational health and safety, risk management and assessment, emergency response management, industrial hygiene and environmental health activities in local authorities. The scope for environmental health related activities are wide and encompasses future advances and technologies.

Entry Requirement

  • Minimum CGPA 2.33 in any 2 subjects at Matriculation, Pre-University, STPM, or equivalent level, including any two of the following: Biology, Physics or Mathematics, and Chemistry.

  • Minimum of Grade D in 2 subjects at A-Level or equivalent, including any two of the following: Biology, Physics or Mathematics, and Chemistry.

  • Minimum 5 credits (5Bs) including: Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Three other subjects

  • Minimum CGPA 2.33 in any 2 subjects at Matriculation, Pre-University, STPM, or equivalent level, including any two of the following: Biology, Physics or Mathematics, and Chemistry.

  • Successful completion of a Diploma in Environmental Health from MAHSA University with a minimum CGPA of 2.50
  • or a Diploma in a related field from other recognised higher education institutions with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
  • or a Diploma in a related field with a CGPA below 2.75 and a minimum of three (3) years (36 months) working experience in the related field.

  • achieve 60% ATAR or achieve 60% (aggregate) in following two (2) subjects:Chemistry, Biology/Physics

  • achieve 60% ATAR or achieve 60% (aggregate) in following two (2) subjects:Chemistry, Biology/Physics

  • Pass in International Baccalaureate (IB) with minimum 24 points including following subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Physics

  • Minimum of 60% ATAR, or minimum aggregate of 60% in two (2) subjects: Chemistry and Biology or Physics.
