Description

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Mathematical Sciences is a research-focused postgraduate programme designed for students who wish to deepen their knowledge of mathematics and contribute original insights to theoretical and applied mathematical research. Candidates undertake an independent research project under the guidance of experienced academic supervisors, exploring areas such as pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, computational mathematics, mathematical modelling, or data analysis. The programme emphasises advanced research methodology, critical thinking, problem-solving, and scholarly communication, supported by access to computing resources, laboratories, and academic research facilities. Graduates develop strong analytical, logical, and technical skills, preparing them for careers in academia, research institutions, finance, technology and engineering industries, or as a pathway to PhD studies in mathematical sciences and related disciplines.
