The Master of Intellectual Property (MIP) is a pioneering postgraduate programme offered by Xiamen University Malaysia, tailored to meet the growing regional and global demand for professionals skilled in intellectual property (IP) and innovation management.; The programme adopts a multidisciplinary curriculum encompassing business, economics, laws and technology to equip students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to navigate the complex IP landscape. It emphasises innovation, commercialisation, IP strategy, and sustainable economic development.; Graduates will be prepared to take on diverse roles such as patent agents, IP consultants, innovation managers, and technology transfer officers. The MIP programme combines lectures, case studies, seminars, and research projects, fostering critical thinking and strategic application of knowledge.

Entry Requirement

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in the field or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or its equivalent as accepted by the HEP Senate
  • or a Bachelor’s degree in the field or a related field with a CGPA of at least 2.50 but below 2.75 may be accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment
  • or a Bachelor’s degree in the field or a related field with a CGPA of at least 2.00 but below 2.50 may be accepted, subject to a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment
  • or candidates without a related qualification or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA requirements outlined above.
