The BSc (Hons) Psychology at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is a three-year full-time undergraduate degree that provides students with a comprehensive and scientific understanding of human behaviour, mental processes and the complex relationship between mind and action, preparing graduates for diverse roles across clinical, organisational, educational and research environments. The programme covers core psychological domains including biological, cognitive, developmental and social psychology, individual differences and research methods, emphasising the application of psychological theory to real-world issues while enhancing transferable skills such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork and numerical literacy through practical assessments, project work and laboratory-based learning. Students also engage in optional courses that broaden perspectives, participate in industrial training, and complete an independent research project that develops advanced analytical and research skills, and the degree is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency with opportunities to experience inter-campus study in the UK or Dubai under the Go Global initiative. Graduates leave well prepared for careers in fields such as clinical and counselling practice, human resources, business and marketing, education and social services, or for further postgraduate study in specialised areas of psychology.
