The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Xiamen University was established in 1956. Over this period, it has trained more than 20,000 TCM professionals from over 50 countries and regions, making significant contributions to the development of TCM in China and Southeast Asia.; The Department of TCM is part of the School of Medicine, Xiamen University, which has a strong faculty team of 1,023 staff members, including clinical teachers. The School of Medicine possesses robust clinical resources, with 11 affiliated hospitals ranked as Tertiary Class A (the highest hospital grade in China) and 5 teaching hospitals. It also has leading research capabilities, supported by more than 50 teaching and research institutions, such as the Straits (Xiamen) TCM Science and Technology Platform, the National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Centre for Medicine, the National Clinical Teaching and Training Demonstration Centre, and the National Research Institute for Health Big Data.

Entry Requirement

  • STPM (Science Stream): Minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 at STPM level with Grade C (GP 2.0) in any two (2) Science subjects.
  • STPM (Non-Science Stream): Minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 at STPM level with Grade C (GP 2.0) in any two (2) subjects, and a credit in any two (2) Science subjects and Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent.

  • Minimum of Grade C in any two (2) Science subjects at A-Level.

  • Minimum 5 credits (5Bs) including 2 Science subjects

  • (Science/T&CM relevant field): Minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 at Foundation/Matriculation level.
  • Foundation/Matriculation (Non-Science): Minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 at Foundation/Matriculation level with a credit in two (2) Science subjects and Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent.

  • (Science/T&CM relevant field):Successful completion of Foundation/Matriculation with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0.
  • Foundation/Matriculation (Non-Science): Successful completion of Foundation/Matriculation with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0, and a credit in two (2) Science subjects and Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent.

  • Successful completion of a Diploma in T&CM-related areas or any Science-related Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0
  • Successful completion of a Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine from recognised institutions or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0, and at least two (2) years of relevant working experience.

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in any discipline from recognised Institutions of Higher Learning, with admission subject to the discretion of the Higher Education Provider (HEP) as stipulated in the programme standards.
