Description

A Nurse-midwife is a person who is trained in both nursing and midwifery and, in Malaysia is certified by the Midwifery Board Malaysia.Students will be trained and given clinical exposure in the highly specialised medical divisions of gynaecology, obstetrics, neonatal care, family and culture, antepartum and postpartum nursing, psychology in motherhood, preventive medicine, recognition of the early signs of medical complications in birthing, and the education for girls and women.

Entry Requirement

  • Successful completion of a Diploma in Nursing from a recognised institution, with a minimum of two (2) years clinical working experience and at least three (3) months of experience in the Midwifery field.

  • Registered with Nursing Board Malaysia (NBM)
  • Possess Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • All candidates must be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner within one month from commencement of the nursing programme
  • Students must not have any physical disabilities or impaired senses that hinders nursing dexterity
  • Students with medical conditions such as HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, epilepsy, mental health disorders and color blindness cannot be admitted into the programme.
