The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is designed to deepen students?? knowledge beyond undergraduate honours or postgraduate diploma levels through intensive research, culminating in a thesis. Focused primarily on independent study, at least two-thirds of the program is dedicated to conducting original research under the guidance of a supervisory team. While limited coursework may be included, the core emphasis is on developing a thesis that makes a significant contribution to the field, whether through new discoveries, innovative theories, or reinterpretations of existing knowledge. The degree provides a pathway for further academic advancement, including progression to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Successful completion of the degree of Bachelor with First or Second Class Honours within the University
or successful completion of a Postgraduate Diploma within the University
or successful completion of a Bachelor's degree with superior performance, subject to relevant and substantial work experience
or successful completion of equivalent qualifications from another institution, recognized by Australian tertiary admissions authorities as equivalent to or a satisfactory substitute for the prescribed qualifications
