The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computing (By Research) is the highest academic qualification aimed at developing scholars and experts capable of contributing original and impactful research to the field of computing. Entry Requirement

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.67 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate, may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment.

  • Successful completion of a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field or related fields, as accepted by the Senate
  • or a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-Computing fields with at least five years of relevant work experience in Computing or related fields, subject to completion of appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP
  • or a Master’s degree in non-Computing fields with less than five years of relevant work experience in Computing or related fields, subject to a rigorous internal assessment to determine the appropriate prerequisite courses equivalent to their work experience as determined by the HEP.

  • Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia as equivalent to the above requirement.
