Description

School of Energy and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), provides postgraduate programmes, namely Master of Science (MSc) in Chemical Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering for students who have completed their Bachelor's or Master's degree to further their studies. The postgraduate programmes are offered in mixed modes including coursework and research. There are 3 major intakes a year in February, April, and September.; The postgraduate programmes are supported by the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, XMU. The affiliated Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, the National Engineering Laboratory for Green Chemical Productions of Alcohols-Ethers-Esters, the State-Province Joint Engineering Laboratory of Power Source Technology for New Energy Vehicle, and the Engineering Research Centre of Electrochemical Technology are at the forefront of Chemical Engineering at XMU.

Entry Requirement

  • Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree who are registered in a Master's degree programme may apply to convert their candidacy to a Doctoral degree programme within one (1) year of their Master's degree registration, subject to the candidate's demonstrated competency and capability in conducting research at the Doctoral level, a rigorous internal evaluation by the university, and approval by the Senate.

  • Successful completion of a Master's Degree in a related science or engineering discipline.

  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government, with evidence of adequate related research or work experience and as accepted by the Senate
