Description

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons.) (Business Intelligence and Analytics) at MMU is a three-year full-time degree programme that arms students with strong foundations in IT and data analytics, enabling them to plan, design, visualise, analyse, and interpret business and statistical data for effective decision-making. The curriculum blends core computing courses (e.g. programming, database systems, networking, algorithms, security), with specialised modules such as Business Intelligence, Data Mining & Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Enterprise Resource Planning, Internet Marketing, and Project Management for Business Analysts — giving a balanced mix of technical, analytical, and business-oriented skills. Students also complete industrial training and a final-year project, ensuring hands-on experience and readiness for real-world industry demands. Graduates are well-positioned for careers as data scientists, business intelligence consultants or analysts, IT business analysts, web or data analysts, SAP specialists, or other roles that require bridging IT with business insight.

Entry Requirement

  • Minimum grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any two STPM subjects or its equivalent, with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent.

  • Minimum of Grade D in any two A-Level subjects, with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 credits (5Bs) including Mathematics and English

  • Minimum CGPA of 2.00 in Foundation or Matriculation studies from a recognised institution, with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.

  • Successful completion of Foundation or Matriculation studies from a recognised institution with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.

  • Successful completion of a Diploma in Computing (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50
  • candidates with a CGPA between 2.00 and 2.49 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment. For a Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in a non-Computing field, a minimum CGPA of 2.75 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent are required
  • candidates with a CGPA between 2.50 and 2.74 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment.

  • Other relevant & equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government. (Candidates can be admitted if their admission qualification contains Mathematics subject(s) equivalent to Mathematics at the SPM level. If it is not equivalent, the reinforcement Mathematics subject equivalent to the SPM level must be offered in the first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer)
