Description

The Master of Research (MRes) in Biosciences is an intensive, research-oriented postgraduate programme designed for students who wish to strengthen their scientific expertise and develop advanced research skills in the biological sciences. The programme focuses primarily on a substantial independent research project, supported by specialist training in research methodology, laboratory techniques, data analysis and scientific communication. Under the guidance of experienced academic supervisors, students explore key areas such as biotechnology, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, ecology, physiology or environmental biology. With access to modern laboratories and advanced instrumentation, candidates gain hands-on research experience while contributing meaningful insights to current scientific challenges. The MRes equips graduates with strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and serves as an excellent pathway to PhD studies or professional roles in research institutions, biotechnology companies, environmental agencies, healthcare laboratories and other science-driven industries.
