Description

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at International Medical University (IMU) is a specialised three‑year undergraduate degree that prepares students for careers in the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, and related industries. This programme combines pharmaceutical sciences with applied chemistry to give students a deep understanding of drug design, synthesis, formulation, analysis, and the physical and chemical properties of compounds, preparing them for real‑world challenges in drug discovery and development. The curriculum is benchmarked to international standards and is accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK, and recognised by the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (IKM), enhancing both professional recognition and global mobility. Students also gain hands‑on experience through laboratory work, research projects, and industrial attachments, helping them build analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Graduates are ready for roles in research and development, quality control, regulatory affairs, and production in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, food, and chemical industries, as well as for postgraduate study and professional pathways.
