Master of Information Science (Library Science) (Coursework and Dissertation)

• A Bachelor’s Degree with Honors or a comparable degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology or in a field related to the study of software engineering; OR
• A Bachelor’s Degree with Honors a comparable degree whereby courses in software engineering were included in the programme of study; OR
• A Bachelor’s Degree with Honors a comparable degree with work experience of at least 3 years in a profession related to software development.

• Other qualifications approved by the University Senate.
• Priority is given to applicants who have a CGPA of 3.00 and above or equivalent.
• Applicants with a Bachelor’s CGPA of 2.70 – 2.99 can be considered if they meet at least one of the following criteria:

(a). Have a relevant work experience;
(b). Have published in respective fields;
(c). Are recipients of scholarship;
(d). Are graduates of the University of Malaya.

• Applicants with a Bachelor’s CGPA of 2.50 – 2.69 may be considered if they meet at least two of the criteria in (a) to (d) above.
• Graduate of University of Malaya with a Bachelor’s CGPA of 2.10 – 2.49 and have at least 5 years of relevant work experience or one publication in an ISI-indexed journal may be considered.

TOEFL – 500 (PBT), 213 (CBT), 80 (IBT); OR

Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya
