This course covers the discipline that applies science to the study of nature, properties and composition of food during storage and processing. You will learn how chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology and other elements affects and changes the properties and composition of food. This will be done using scientific and technical methods to understand the nature of raw food and their changes into the final product for consumption. Above all, this course overlooks the concerns, maintenance and improvements of food quality and safety. You will look at different modules covering processing of food, preserving of food, the procedures and its preparation methods. This also gives you the knowledge and exposure in regards to the effects of food and drinks on our bodily health.
