In this course, you can expect to continue onto doctoral studies (Ph.D., M.D., or the equivalent). From this course the specialisation that entails, assures training in research techniques and in the preparation of scholarly papers, and it culminates in the preparation and defence of a thesis based on original research. Here, you will study of the initiation into methods of intense study and research in some selected area of anatomy. Your studies will also include comprehensive oral examination of the material presented in the core anatomy courses and a written scholarly project focusing on a contemporary issue falling under one of the various sub-disciplines of anatomy. This programme will also provide you with the opportunity to learn fundamental laboratory techniques used in anatomical research and the chance to help teach in one or more of the department’s graduate or undergraduate courses.
