Description

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Creative Arts and Media provides students with the opportunity to undertake interdisciplinary research that contributes new insights and understandings to fields aligned with the School of Arts. The programme allows candidates to pursue either a conceptual or research-creation pathway, supporting the development of work through artistic or academic forms. It also enables students to integrate creative arts practice—such as the production of artworks or other artefacts—into their research. Embracing a wide range of methodologies, the programme welcomes historical, theoretical, and philosophical perspectives, as well as analytical and interpretative inquiries into creative arts and media practices.

Entry Requirement

  • Successful completion of a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

  • Any other qualifications will be considered on a case-to-case basis, as accepted by the University Senate
  • AND Interview: Candidates are to pass an interview conducted by a panel from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. This is to assess the candidate’s communication abilities and interest in research.
