Description

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) Bioinformatics programme is designed to equip students with multidisciplinary knowledge and skills by integrating biology with mathematical, statistical, computer science, and information technology approaches to address challenges in biological research and data analysis. With the rapid advancement of biological data generation, the programme prepares students to apply computational algorithms and bioinformatics tools to analyse and interpret complex biological information. Through comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, students develop practical, numerical, digital, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills required to meet the growing demands of the bioinformatics industry. The programme also emphasises research capabilities, innovation, entrepreneurship, ethical awareness, and lifelong learning, enabling graduates to contribute effectively to the fields of bioinformatics and life sciences while addressing technological, commercial, social, and legal considerations
