Description

The Mechanical Engineering degree enables students to design and develop novel and innovative structures and materials for a wide range of technologies, from cars to medical devices. Mechanical engineers are responsible for researching, developing, designing, manufacturing, and testing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices. Their work spans a wide range of applications, including the automotive and aerospace industries, as well as biomedical and microsystems fields.

Entry Requirement

  • Minimum of 3Bs including Mathematics, Physics and one other STEM subject.

  • Minimum of 1A including Mathematics and 1B including Physics and 1C with a pass in the Physics Practical (where it is separately endorsed)

  • Minimum of 3As including Advanced Mathematics I & II and Physics, and B3 or B4 in two other STEM subjects (Computing accepted).

  • Minimum of 32 points, 16 at Higher Level, including 6 at Higher Level in Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches)
  • 7 at Higher Level in Mathematics (Applications and Interpretation) and 5 at Higher Level in Physics.

  • IELTS: 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each component, SPM English: Grade C or CEFR Level B2, GCSE English: Grade C, IGCSE English as a Second Language: Grade A, UEC English: B3 or equivalent
  • IB English: 5 at Standard/Higher Level in IB English Language Syllabus A or 6 at Standard Level/5 at Higher Level in IB English Language Syllabus B.
