Description

The Pre-Medical (Pre-Med) Foundation Year (FY) is an alternative pathway within the Medicine programme. It consists of a series of stand-alone and integrated modules, along with modularised assessments, that equip students with a solid grounding in biomedical sciences.

Entry Requirement

  • Successful completion of the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 or New Zealand Bursary with an average of 80% in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics

  • Minimum grade B+ in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics, with a credit in Mathematics or Mathematics equivalent at SPM level and a pass in English at SPM level or English equivalent

  • Minimum of BBB in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics

  • Minimum 5 credits (5 B4s) including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics 1 or Additional/Advanced Mathematics 1, and Mathematics 2 or Additional/Advanced Mathematics 2

  • Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) including Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics

  • Minimum 34 points and above in HL Biology, HL Chemistry, and SL Mathematics

  • Overall minimum of 80% in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics

  • Successful completion of a relevant Bachelor Degree programme with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or Upper Second Class Honours (2:1)

  • 1119 GCE-O: grade B, CEFR: grade C1, 1st Language English: grade B, IELTS: 6.5 with each component not less than 6.0, PTE Academic: 63 with each component not less than 59, TOEFL IBT: 90 with each component not less than 21

  • Bahasa Malaysia at SPM: PASS
